CALLS AND CASUALTY OFFICER (CACO)

The RAO Subic Bay CACO handles all of our death cases. We provide the widow with information on how to handle the death of a loved one. We assist her contact family members in the USA via the U.S. Embassy Manila. In the case of a loved one passing away in the USA or other foreign countries and needs to make contact with a family member here in the Philippines, that can be done via the RAO Subic Bay by way of the Warden (Chester Gross). We assist the widows by contacting their husband's financial facility i.e. NFCU or other banking facilities and recover the remaining funds in the accounts for the widow. As a further service to the widow, we assist her by reporting the death to DFAS in order that she may receive any benefits such as Survivor Benefit Plan SBP. In the case of most civilians that pass away who are not retired military, we report this to Office of Personnel Management OPM. Our CACO officer is the deputy director Mr. Jimmy Tyler.
