Shipping household goods to the Philippines can be complex however, if you have your resident visa prior to coming here and present the visa to customs it is much better. When you come here with a resident visa they assume you will reside here and be more lenient, but without a resident visa the customs dues are much higher. We do not recommend you bring a car or motorcycle. The customs dues can be as much as 100% to 150% value of the car. For example: I had a Datsun pick 1971 model. They say cars de-appreciate 10%. I brought my truck in tax exempt. After the bases closed someone got the idea that all the tax exempt vehicles should be tax paid. I bought the truck in 1980 for $500.00 I had to pay $850.00 to keep the truck. Don’t’ bring in a vehicle.
