MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. AFF-05-___

LAST AND FINAL EXTENSION OF PERIOD TO REPLACE
PAPER-BASED ACRs TO ACR I-CARDS OF REGISTERED ALIENS

        WHEREAS, Memorandum Order No. AFF-05-010 dated March 2, 2005 has further extended the period to replace the paper-based Alien Certificates of Registration (ACRs) of registered aliens to the hi-tech microchip-based ACR I-Card.

        WHEREAS, various groups representing registered aliens have again requested to further extend the deadline as they still foresee the inability of their members to meet the June 30, 2005 deadline.

        NOW, THEREFORE, the deadline for the replacement of the paper-based ACR to ACR I-Cards is hereby extended for the final and last time to December 31, 2005 .  Thereafter, any registered alien found in possession of a paper-based ACR shall be deemed not properly documented and may be proceeded against under pertinent provisions of Immigration Act of 1940 and/or Alien Registration Act of 1950, both as amended.

        This Memorandum Order amends Memorandum Order No. AFF-04-026 dated December 10, 2004 and Memorandum Order No. AFF-05-010 dated March 2, 2005.
