There is a now a significant population of Australians and Europeans, mostly in Barrio Barretto, and about 200 American military retirees still on the scene in the Subic Bay area.
Tourist season is Nov - Mar, between the rainy season and the hot months of Apr - Jun. "Rainy season" is becoming an enigma. It has not been unusual for the seasons to overlap. In 1994 it rained most of July, but that did not happen in 1995 - 1998. The last typhoon in 1996 was at Thanksgiving, the last in 1997 was at Christmas, and none had any significant effect on the local area since then. |
